Imagine this: A gorgeous balmy summer afternoon. You are sat on a camping chair or

blanket with a picnic of your favourite food and drinks, your family are around you. Behind you

the sun is high in the sky and warming you nicely, on a glorious summer day. In front of you a

group of professional actors are presenting a fantastic, hilarious and magical production of the

Wind In The Willows.

This could be a reality this coming summer as Boxtree Productions and Boston Spa Hockey Club are

excited to bringing Wind in The Willows to the fabulous outdoor space at Collingham and Linton

Sports Association.

Boxtree Productions toured their first production (The Three Musketeers) in 2014 and this

year they are celebrating 10 years of wonderful open-air theatre with a tour of their fantastic musical

adaptation of Kenneth Grahame classic story, The Wind In The Willows. They are very excited

to be visiting this new venue with this fantastic open-air production.

When Mole gets fed up of cleaning her home she decides to leave her burrow and head out

on adventure! She meets Ratty and Toad and Badger and discovers a love of the river and the joy

of the open road. However, that egocentric Toad is convinced to steal a car by those meddling

weasels! Toad is arrested and the Weasels take over Toad Hall to turn it into a theatre for their own

amusement! It falls to Mole and Ratty, Badger and Toad to take back Toad Hall! Will they do it?

Find out this summer as Boxtree Productions transform this classic tale into a musical that

will be enjoyed by the whole family. West End Best Friend described Boxtree`s shows as “great

wholesome family entertainment”

“I just love the informality of open-air theatre.” Says managing director, James Franklin.

“Being able to sit in a gorgeous place, and eat and drink, surrounded by your family to enjoy

a fantastic family production. Perfect! We can`t wait to see you there!”

“I love this story and have done since I was little girl, so I am so excited to be bringing

our own version of this show to our fans old and new this summer” adds Artistic director,

Abigail Franklin.

Young and old alike will enjoy the hilarious comedy characters, magical moments and

fantastic original songs. This fast-paced musical comedy will get you singing, laughing and

dancing in your seats!

“The Wind In The Willows” will be at CALSA on Sunday 11th August 2024 at 4pm The

audience can arrive from 3pm, the show will last approximately 2hrs including an interval and the

audience should bring something to sit on and dress for the great British weather, as the

performance is outdoors, cancellation only in the event of dangerous conditions.
